Akoya pearls are saltwater pearls grown from Pinctada fucata oysters, initially cultivated in Japan. Since the 1920s, they have been a global symbol of beauty and elegance, highly coveted and steadily increasing in price.
Directly sourced as a finished jewellery piece from the Japan International Jewellery Exhibition, this original Japanese Akoya necklace brings together eight exceptional pearls in an artistic, asymmetrically balanced composition.
Every metal component is crafted from S925 sterling silver. The reverse of the setting, the clasp and the heart-shaped tag are all stamped S925. The well-constructed rolo chain has a reassuring, refined feel and supports the pearl arrangement beautifully.
The pearls are arranged across gently flowing silver branches, interspersed with round and baguette-cut zirconia that resemble points of light between luminous pearl droplets. Three larger pearls measuring approximately 6–7mm form the lower layer, creating depth and a graceful focal point. Above them sit five pearls measuring approximately 4–6mm, including Aurora Sairindama Akoya pearls (オーロラ彩凛珠), arranged in a rising rhythm that follows the neckline naturally.
