Rare Premium Silver-Grey Lemon-Green Japanese Madama Akoya Pearl Necklace 7.5mm, Pink Overtones, Sculptural Floral Clasp, Show Piece
Rare Premium Silver-Grey Lemon-Green Japanese Madama Akoya Pearl Necklace 7–7.5mm, Mirror Lustre with Dreamy Pink Iridescence, Japanese Sculptural Floral Silver Clasp, Japan International Jewellery Exhibition Piece
【About Madama Akoya Pearls: Japanese Madama Akoya pearls are a distinctive series of saltwater Akoya pearls celebrated for their stunning silver-grey to blue hues. These naturally cultured gems typically range from 6 to 9mm in size. Pearls under 5mm or over 9mm are extremely rare and highly valued. Silver-grey-blue tones are already rarer than the classic white Akoya, and often show more natural imperfections. Thus, high-quality Madama Akoya pearls are exceptionally scarce and prized—reflected in both rarity and pricing.
Their cool, metallic tones convey a sense of mystery and avant-garde elegance, making them a sought-after choice for those who appreciate unique natural colour. This rarity and visual intrigue have led to a consistent rise in their value in recent years.】
【Product Description】
Rare Silver-Grey Lemon-Green Hue
Mirror-Like Lustre
Japanese Sculptural Floral Silver Clasp
Akoya pearls, grown from Pinctada fucata oysters, were first cultivated in Japan and have represented refined beauty since the 1920s, remaining consistently popular with steadily rising market value.
Directly sourced as a finished jewellery piece from the Japan International Jewellery Exhibition, this is a particularly distinctive Japanese Madama Akoya pearl necklace, completed with an original Japanese all-silver insert clasp.
The clasp itself is a highlight of the design. Rather than a conventional fastening intended to be hidden at the back, it is formed as a three-dimensional sculptural flower, with overlapping, finely textured petals curling around a polished centre. It can be deliberately worn at the front or slightly to the side as a decorative focal point. The reverse is stamped SILVER.
The strand is composed of beautifully matched 7–7.5mm Japanese Madama Akoya pearls, one of the most classic and versatile sizes for an Akoya necklace. The pearls are round, smoothly surfaced and well matched throughout. Their overall surface cleanliness is very good, with only occasional natural texture visible on individual pearls under magnification.
What makes this strand especially captivating is its natural colour. The pearls display an exceptionally uncommon silver-grey with lemon-green tones, accompanied by dreamy flashes of soft pink iridescence. The green undertone is particularly sought after and adds both rarity and character to the strand.
The lustre is intensely bright and penetrating, creating a smooth, mirror-like surface that can be so reflective that it is difficult for the camera to capture accurately. In person, the colours appear richer and more dimensional, shifting subtly between cool silver, fresh lemon green and delicate pink as the light changes.
A highly attractive combination of quality, rarity and value, suitable both for regular wear and as a special pearl gift.
