Akoya pearls, grown from Pinctada fucata oysters, were first cultivated in Japan and have represented refined beauty since the 1920s, remaining consistently popular with steadily rising market value.
Directly sourced as finished jewellery from the Japan International Jewellery Exhibition, these elegant stud earrings feature a beautifully matched pair of genuine Japanese natural silver-grey Madama Akoya pearls, set in original Japanese-made S925 sterling silver fittings.
The pearls measure approximately 8–8.1mm, an impressive size for Akoya, with an exceptionally round shape and beautifully clean, flawless surfaces. Their natural silver-grey body colour has a remarkably clear, translucent quality, rather than appearing heavy or dark.
